The seminar series was announced a few weeks before it was slated to begin, and the response that the company got when registrants were asked to sign up proved to be rather overwhelming. With only 10 participants allowed for each day, and with a total of 6 days set for such an event, the 60 slots were filled quickly. It was then not surprising that requests for more seminar days be added.
Before any new dates were set however, the first hurdle of running a smooth and successful first round was the primary concern. A couple of nights before the first day of the lecture series, Chef Jed had a run through with some of BakeTech Solutions’ personnel and head honchos in the room. Then the fateful day dawned. On Oct. 6, 2014, the first free baking basics seminar was launched…and it was a resounding success!
On the second day, and with numerous requests for more free seminar slots coming in via the company’s Facebook Page, it was then decided that another wave of lectures be held the following week. And so, the second round of Baking Basics 101 lectures were rolled out and announced to one and all. As expected, if the first seminar was to be any indicator, the slots for the next five days soon filled up pretty fast.
The second round of lectures for the module “BASIC BAKING 101: LEARN THE BASICS OF PROPER BAKING” began on the 13th of October and ran until the 17th, giving another 50 individuals the chance to learn the rudiments of certain breads like ensaymada, Spanish bread, pan de coco, pan de sal, cheese bread, and cheese roll. They enjoyed the fruits of their labor with the free samples that they can taste as well as bring home afterwards.
This success soon made the basic bread making seminars a regular offering from Baketech, with two batches usually being given the rudiments of bread baking every month since its inception. To this day, people are enjoying the free lessons, free use of the exemplary equipment of Baketech, and free knowledge from some of the best bakers in the country. And all of these are for free.
